Thatcham, UK – 25 August 2026: Test & measurement innovator, Leader Electronics of Europe, has announced that leading broadcast rental company Minitech has purchased a Leader LPX500 quad 4K-input hybrid IP/SDI waveform monitor and LT4670 hybrid IP/SDI sync pulse generator as part of a major equipment upgrade. Based in Aarhus and Copenhagen in Denmark, Minitech has been providing an extensive range of broadcast solutions - encompassing everything from cameras and live streaming technology to complete OB vehicles - since it was founded in 2003. The sale was arranged through Leader Electronics of Europe distributor, JDE, which supports broadcast professionals in Denmark, Iceland and Greenland.
Recognizing that it needed to upgrade with a modern waveform monitor that could fully accommodate IP and SDI, the Minitech team initiated a search that ultimately led them to Leader’s market-leading LPX500. Developed for the full spectrum of current broadcast analysis and generation requirements, the LPX500 Hybrid IP/SDI is the first in a new era of products combining technology from the Leader and PHABRIX T&M brands. The LPX500 offers a bank of four independent analyzers, enabling the simultaneous display and monitoring of 4 x 12G-SDI and 2 x 100GE-IP inputs.
The ability to add an optional second screen and create multiple screen layouts - giving operators a vast workspace and seamless movement between instrument views - was a major factor in Minitech’s decision to choose the LPX500. Niklas Sjöstrand, Project Manager at Minitech adds: “We did a very careful evaluation, and it soon became clear that the LPX500 really had no competition in terms of the features we required. It’s a versatile solution, with a very good feature-set, and therefore it’s been a strong addition to our inventory.”
Minitech has also acquired a Leader LT4670, which is a 1U full rack-sized synchronous signal generator designed for seamless integration into both SDI and IP-based workflows. It delivers a comprehensive range of outputs, including PTP, GNSS, 4K/HD IP, 4K 12G, 3G/HD/SD SDI, analog sync signals, AES/EBU, audio word clock and LTC, all synchronized to analog video sync signals.
Both new additions are being utilized in a medium-sized OB unit as part of daily workflow processes. “The excellent reputation of the Leader brand, and these units’ suitability of 12G-SDI and IP workflows, were key factors in our decision-making - and we’ve been delighted with their versatility and performance,” says Sjöstrand.
